Bowen therapy is a form of bodywork. It involves gently stretching the facia, the soft tissue that covers all your muscles and organs, to promote pain relief. Specifically it uses precise and gentle rolling hand movements. The idea is to reduce pain by stimulating the nervous system. These rolling movements are designed to stimulate nerve pathways which allow a sort of conversation to take place between different nervous systems of the body. Some people refer to this as a type of massage. It isn’t a medical treatment though. Bowen is very gentle and suitable for all ages. I am a certified Bowen practitioner in basic and advanced treatment since 2015. Also certified in basic Bowen for canine therapy. Sí yo hablo español!
