Bodywork by Victoria specializes in releasing scar tissue and adhesions resulting from soft tissue trauma, injury, overuse or surgery. Scar tissue, for example, is that knot in your back that won’t go away no matter how long you lean on the lacrosse ball. Scar tissue doesn’t have to just be from a recent injury or trauma and most likely the knot is a build up of scar tissue from re-injuring of the same area. The body heals itself using scar tissue. Muscle adhesions feel as if the muscles are super glued to each other. Tight hamstrings is an example of muscle adhesions that will have you stretching all day yet you'll only feel a little bit of relief only while you are stretching. The body protects itself with muscle adhesions.
