Practicing Structural Integration (SI). SI is different than massage in that you (the client) stay with your body throughout the session rather than checking out while the therapist works; and different than Chiropractic or Physical Therapy in that it views the body holistically as a somatic system of function, rather than a mechanism of parts. SI recognizes the Fascia System which is the connective tissue that runs head to toe and from the skin to the deepest cells and is like the skin of a orange slice. Structural issues leading to pain, inflamation and mobility problems are usually found within this interconnected web of tissue. SI addresses the fascia through deep tissue techniques.
